Thomas graduated from Waterloo with a degree in environmental engineering and a background in programming and electronics. He’s worked in water treatment, lake modelling, and municipal engineering, but left his research group because he wanted more practical work experience. In just a few months of the Pioneer Tournament, he managed to both engineer and secure multiple prototype installations at different plants. All the while, earning his degree at University.

Industrial equipment is often inspected by hand today with manual audits. This is a huge sector within the IoT world that software has yet to eat. Their sensors provide operators key system optimization and safety information at all times.
